Residents of the Scots village of Dull have proved they have a sense of humour by forging a plan to create formal links with the US town of Boring.
In a move which is unlikely to set pulses racing, the Perthshire village and the Oregon logging town are discussing linking to become Dull and Boring.

Nearly 600 people on the Ionian island of Zakynthos managed to have themselves falsely declared blind, entitling them to fat monthly cheques from the state. They included shopkeepers, restaurant owners, farmers tending the island's patchwork of vineyards and olive groves, and a few amateur hunters, and even taxi drivers
.
Other "blind" locals have been seen cheerfully playing cards and backgammon in the tavernas and bars of the island. "Out of 650 registered blind people on the island, we estimate that at least 600 are fraudulent claims," the mayor told The Sunday Telegraph. That represents nearly two per cent of the island's population of 35,000 - nearly 10 times the average rate of blindness in the rest of Europe.
The woman met her latest victim, a 31-year-old African man, on her way home from a sex addiction clinic in Munich. She invited him back to her flat where she kept him hostage and forced him to satisfy her sexual demands.
The victim eventually managed to break out of the apartment after his attacker fell asleep. He was later found weeping on the street by police. He fought back tears to tell them: “I met her on a bus. A $500 million lawsuit was filed by the Oglala Sioux Tribe against some of the world's largest beer makers, as well as their distributors, and four beer stores in the reservation border town of Whiteclay. Whiteclay has a population of 11 people and sold the equivalent of 4.3 million 12-ounce cans of beer last year. Tribal leaders and activists blame the Whiteclay businesses for chronic alcohol abuse and bootlegging on Pine Ridge Reservation, an area the size of Connecticut with approx 40,000 residents. The lawsuit asks that breweries, retailers and distributors pay damages for health care and law enforcement costs, developmental problems in children and other alcohol-related problems on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. The tribe also wants a judge to restrict alcohol sales in Whiteclay.
One in four children born on the reservation suffers from fetal alcohol syndrome or fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, and the average life expectancy is estimated between 45 and 52 years.
For the May first holiday, a 3 month-old Francois’ Leaf Monkey was placed in the Wuhan zoo's monkey exhibit for the first time. The next day his caretaker, model worker Zhang Bangsheng, discovered that the little monkey had indigestion and difficulty defecating, and immediately became worried. Seeing peanut shells on the ground Old Zhang immediately understood that the toothless monkey had swallowed a peanut whole. If it did not quickly defecate it, it would endanger the little monkey’s life. Because the monkey was so small it was unsuitable to use a laxative.
He cleaned monkey’s buttocks, then began using his mouth to lick it, not stopping for over an hour, until the little monkey defecated a single peanut. Only after the peanut was defecated did 50-year-old Zhang Bangsheng laugh with satisfaction.
Customs officers duly discovered what they considered to be an extraordinary stash of alcoholic beverages, despite the man's claims that the booze was meant purely for personal consumption.
While he first claimed to have 40 crates of beer, it turned out he was actually carrying 340 crates; totaling 2357 litres of beer, 158 litres of pre-mixed drinks, 12 litres of wine, and 15 litres of spirits.
